Drive TrafficTo Your WebSite, Search Engine Optimization - S.E.O.
Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.) will help drive traffic to your website. Search engine optimization is a very specialized process that basically helps your website to be search engine friendly and ultimately helps to drive organic traffic (visitors) to your website.
What Are People Searching For?
Keywords in your Meta Tags are not the only thing to consider when optimizing your website. Keywords, or more specifically, search phrases are very important to consider, but your entire website must be geared (or optimized) in order for a search engine to give merit to your website and ultimately drive more traffic to your website. If you are selling something different from what a person is searching for, it isn’t of great value for that person searching, or for you. Random traffic to your website is not going to necessarily generate more sales. If someone is looking for lawn furniture, getting them to your plumbing site is not going to help anyone.
Relevant Results Is the Key
What it all amounts to is this - there are millions of web pages out there who all want to be on page one. A search engines primary job is to provide “relevant results” to the people who are typing the key phases. Providing “relevant results” is what makes a search engine valuable to people, and therefore makes them successful – like Google. Google is king of all search engines ( and the most coveted) because they have provided a good service of providing relevant information. If a search engine doesn’t provide “relevant results”, they would quickly loose popularity and fall victim to another search engine who would.
Early on, search engines operated by simply allowing the author of the web page to specify “keywords” in their Meta tags to inform the search engine what their web page was about – and who they wanted to attract. Over the years, website designers became savvy to search engine etiquette and could unfairly give more weight to their search relevance by ticks they learned. Google strongly frowns on giving a website an unfair advantage. Remember, if Google were to allow this to happen, more and more search results would become less-relevant, and detrimental to Google.
Google’s strategy has become very sophisticated – and very secretive. Only Google knows how (and why) they rank search results – and for good reason. No-one can guarantee “getting you on page one” with Google, because only Google can determine that. We do know that your keywords have a lot less relevance, and search engines now scan every word on your web pages in order to judge the relevance of your website. You can’t just add the keyword “plumber” in your Meta tags and be on page one whenever someone types “plumber”. Do you use the word “plumber” in your site? Google actually counts how many times you use each word in your website and ranks your relevance based on the most popular words – or phrases. So, if you are a plumber, you should be talking about it on your website.
We need to think about how people are searching for your products and/or services. If they are looking for a plumber, they wouldn’t just type “plumber” because if they did, they would get a very broad array of information. Specifically, what phrases would they type? This is where we can help you.
We need to identify your business. What products and/or services do you provide? What geographic area do you do business in? Then, we need to gear your website to represent those products and/or services. Then, we need to determine how your potential customers would search for you.
We also need to consider how competitive your market is. If you are a plumber for example, there are a lot of plumbers in the world, and there are a lot of people searching for plumbers. This is a highly competitive market. We need to strategize how to get your share – and there are techniques.
Don’t be fooled by empty promises
I am not an expert in search engine optimization, but I know enough to know I have to rely on the experts for this talent. I have partnered with a local expert who has a passion for SEO details, and a growing track record of proven results. It has taken me a long time to find someone who really knows what they are doing and more importantly, not ripping people off. I have heard many stories of people who were made big promises and guaranteed results. One thing I know for sure is that if someone is guaranteeing results, you better reconsider.
We get results - Satisfaction Guaranteed!
Affordability and value is what I am basing my search engine optimization program on. The big companies are charging thousands of dollars to sprinkle their magic dust on your website. My fees are much lower and we know we can build traffic and better ranking with the search engines. Be very leery of someone who is asking for a couple hundred dollars and guaranteeing they can get you listed on page one with Google.
We can improve your website ranking and visibility to your potential customers. Buffalo NY
Search Engine Optimization Defined
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a website web presence. As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic. The initialism "SEO" can refer to "search engine optimizers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site and site content, SEO tactics may be incorporated into website development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe website designs, menus, content management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimized for the purpose of search engine exposure. Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, uses methods such as link farms, keyword stuffing and article spinning that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices. |
